Founded in Berlin and at home in the MediaTech Hub Lab: Pro.Take has developed a new digital tool (prop identifier) for the management of props and product placement for the film industry. Prop management is currently undertaken by hand with pen and paper and involves a significant number of personnel.

The Prop Identifier provides producers with a software that improves budget control, increases productivity and saves costs. We talked to the founder Anna Voth about artificial intelligence training, workflow processes and Babelsberg as the best working environment for film and digital enthusiasts

ProTake is…

ProTake is developing a software that will make it possible to capture every scene digitally in a film with its props.

The business idea came about…

The idea came to us when we realised again during a shoot that there still wasn’t any digital solution for capturing the “props”.

A prop identifier is…

The Prop Identifier is a software solution which records props and costumes with images, short textual descriptions, number and costs or type of provision (prop store, purchase, private, product placement, etc.).

And works like this…

During the production phase, the staff in the respective departments (costume, set design, etc.) are provided with this recording system with a simple interface on a mobile device.

Sounds simple, but it’s complex because…

…on the one hand, we have to develop easy handling for the respective employee. It mustn’t greatly increase the workload for them. On the contrary. On the other hand, we are developing an automated object recognition system. Artificial intelligence must be trained for this.

The ProTake team includes…

…Fareni Kämpfer and Lucas Hässelbarth as young founders.

For me, Babelsberg is…

…the best working environment for film and digital enthusiasts.

What I was able to contribute when ProTake was set up…

I was able to draw on my experience as an entrepreneur in the national and international film and media industry as well as the IT sector when ProTake was established. I have been involved, in particular, with artificial intelligence processes and new digital business models for several years.

I associate artificial intelligence with…

…higher efficiency in workflow processes so that people have more room for creativity and thinking.

This is where you can meet ProTake…

ProTake can be found in the MediaTech Hub Lab and at the networking events of media:net berlinbrandenburg.
