MTH UNBOXING: nxtBase technologies

Many processes are becoming increasingly complex. In order to be able to carry them out as productively and flawlessly as possible, innovative technical solutions are needed - like those of the Potsdam-based startup nxtBase technologies. With their hardware and software offering, extensive work processes can be easily digitized.
In the December issue of MTH Unboxing, Jörg Jonas-Kops explains why he founded nxtBase technologies and what his mission is with the company.

MTH Accelerator: What did you do before nxtBase technologies?
Jörg Jonas-Kops: For many years I worked as a real estate consultant. Then, for almost 20 years, I worked as a SAP management consultant, a key account manager, an CSO and CEO at BestVal (PropTech). I left in 2012, and founded Kops&Konsorten UG in 2013, which we transformed into nxtBase technologies GmbH in 2016.

MTH Accelerator: What are you doing now, apart from nxtBase technologies?
Jörg Jonas-Kops: I am a family man, and I love Berlin and the Brandenburg area. I cook quite well, am interested in HiFi (tubes and horns), and passionately enjoy playing Backgammon.

MTH Accelerator: What ist nxtBase technologies?
Jörg Jonas-Kops: nxtBase offers a platform for Smart & Predictive Maintenance, as well as a patented and unique bundle of hardware and software, which makes Augmented Reality possible everywhere, even without internet.

MTH Accelerator: Why nxtBase technologies?
Jörg Jonas-Kops: After working as an employee for a long time – in my last job I had to commute to work by train to Switzerland – I reached my limit in 2013. I was tired of arriving at the office in a bad mood and coming home in an even worse mood. I wanted to be my own boss again

MTH Accelerator: Why the MTH Accelerator?
Jörg Jonas-Kops: In 2018 we moved to the Guido Seber House – right at the entrance to the Babelsberg Film Studio – and consequently, we are deeply integrated and rooted within the ecosystem here. Although we have offices in Berlin and Sri Lanka – nxtBase China is coming soon – our solution is and remains “Made in Babelsberg.”

MTH Accelerator: What is your mission?
Jörg Jonas-Kops: We want to become the leading end-to-end solution for inspection, maintenance, repair, and servicing through our voice-driven SmartGlasses applications, as well as our WIOTTA platform (Warehousing, Internet of Things, Transportation, Mobility, Supply Chain Management, Predictive Analytics, Artificial Intelligence [AI], Virtual Reality [VR], Augmented Reality [AR]).
