Review | Digital Hub Initiative Network Meeting February 2022

Sustainability has been an important topic for several years now and is becoming increasingly urgent within our society - in both private and business contexts. The last network meeting of the Digital Hub Initiative was precisely about this exchange. Together with all participants from the other de:hubs in Germany, we looked at the 17 Sustainable Development Goals and addressed the questions “What are the Digital Hubs within the initiative already implementing?” and “What can still be done here?”.

In addition to updates from the Digital Hub Initiative, rckt and GTAI, as well as the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs, Energy and Climate Protection, there were also exciting and enriching presentations from guest speakers Michael Fritz from Viva con Agua and Stefan Liebenberg from the Sustainable Economy and Fair Competition, Consumer Policy Unit of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection.

The topic of sustainability is also high on the agenda at MediaTech Hub Potsdam. Because since January 1, 2022, every German producer who’s receiving funding is obligated to implement effective ecological measures and thus enable green film productions. In addition to a #mediatechtalk at the end of 2021, there will be further formats this year.
