SRH Berlin University of Applied Sciences has been a partner university in the MTH Accelerator since March and is thus also part of the cosmos in the MediaTech Hub Potsdam.
The MediaTech Hub Accelerator was initiated in 2019 by the University of Potsdam, the Hasso Plattner Institute and the Film University Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF. With the SRH Berlin University of Applied Sciences, a private university from Berlin now complements the network. Other content and financial partners of the MTH Accelerator are APX - Axel Springer and Porsche, the ILB - Investment Bank of the State of Brandenburg, the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labour and Energy of the State of Brandenburg and media:net.berlinbrandenburg e.V..
The SRH Berlin University of Applied Sciences fits ideally into the environment of the MediaTech Hub Potsdam and of course the MTH Accelerator - between creative and digital industries, tech and entrepreneurship. The internationally oriented degree programmes range from Design, Coding and Engineering, Entrepreneurship, Business Administration to Film & Television and Marketing.
Especially in the area of entrepreneurship, the SRH Berlin University of Applied Sciences has its own SRH Start-up Lab Berlin, a place where students receive support in the areas of idea and product development and ideation, or take the first steps towards founding a company. In order to provide the start-ups with further options in the areas of venture development, fundraising, pitching, sales and legal matters, among others, the SRH Berlin University of Applied Sciences has joined the MediaTech Hub Accelerator and its network.
“It is with great pleasure that we welcome the SRH Berlin University of Applied Sciences as a new partner university in the MTH Accelerator, which perfectly complements the orientation and idea of our initiators. And of course we are excited to welcome creative and tech-savvy teams that we will support with our individually tailored programme on their way in the start-up world,” says Erdinç Koç, Head of MTH Accelerator Babelsberg.
Sigrid Peuker, Head of SRH Start-up Lab Berlin adds: “We’re thrilled to be part of the MTH Accelerator and to provide our students and alumni an advanced programme along with an extensive network of professionals in the Berlin-Brandenburg region. The combination of the arts and creative industries, IT, technology and business sciences that the MTH Accelerator presents is an ideal fit for start-ups emerging from SRH Berlin.”
The MTH Accelerator is especially geared towards the needs of young founders, primarily from universities. It complements the start-up activities of the universities and offers smart and customised support in the crucial early phase of the young companies through mentoring, coaching, workshops and the MTH Accelerator’s own knowledge database.
